Birds of the Finger Lake Region

The Winter Wren. Chris and I saw this cute little bird on our hiking adventure at Sned Acres. He was scurrying about up into the brush, into a burrow he had made under the roots of a great tree that hung on the side a raven,. Chris calls him the chipmunk of the bird world. I enjoy bird watching, and find it entertaining to discover new birds in different regions of the U.S. Chris laughs at this enjoyment of mine, because any one who knows me well, knows that I have a phobia of birds being to close to me. I may never conquer my fear of birds but I will delight in watching them from a far. We laugh at the irony.
